Well, well, well water...

It's been a months since my last post.  A lot of action going on - it's just not on the build site.  To make a long story short we have been waiting for the structural engineers to work through a roof truss challenge.  Resolving this issue and maintaining our design was stressful and frustrating to put it mildly.  And that's all I will say about that.

We used the time to make a few tweaks to the exterior - added a couple of lights and windows.  We did a last minute change of our window manufacturer after hearing some bad news on the sliding doors we were planning to install.  Selected all bathroom sinks and cabinets...  All of this I will attempt to cover in upcoming posts.

We have water!  Hitting oil would have been more exciting, but pleased to know that we can supply our own H20. Had to drill 225' down to get it, and it's only producing 5.5 gal/min.  There are plenty of wells in our area producing less so I'm pleased.  Considering we are currently in the middle of a nasty drought it seems logical that we should have a steady water supply in future drought conditions, too.
225' below this cap is where the water hides.

The water run-off carved a path through the trees that demanded exploration...
The drilling company is recommending we install a 2500 gal storage tank to ensure we have consistent supply in moments of high demand.  So we need to figure out where to tuck that thing on the lot and get a pad poured and some other hassles.  We want to make the pad large enough to build an interesting enclosure around the tank at some point in the future.
